Our next public engagement is the annual Langport District Friendly Society march through Langport and Huish Episcopi on Saturday 25 May. After an initial church service, the march leaves All Saints Church at 9.10am and visits various locations around the town, finally ending up at the Langport Arms in Bow Street around 3pm.

We're all eagerly awaiting our CD (recorded over the weekend of 5/6/7 April) and it will hopefully be available/on sale around mid-year.

"Just a note to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all of you in the Band for the great event on Sunday. We thought that the Band was on absolutely ‘top form’ and excelled in all aspects of the music." (Email from the organiser of the Kingsbury Episcopi Methodist Church carol concert held on Sunday, 16th Dec 2018)

"I just wanted to officially thank you all for the wonderful performance you put on for our Street Fair. It isn’t official yet but I believe this was our best year ever for fund raising. Thank you for being a part of that. I say it every year and every year I mean it, when I say Drayton Street Fair wouldn’t be the same without you. It’s the music that lends the day its particular vibrance, I believe.I hope you all enjoyed yourself and that we’ll see you again next year." (Email from organiser, Louise Lee, following our performance on Saturday, 1st Sep 2018)

"Dear band members, I just wanted to say a big Thank you to you all for your wonderful performance yesterday at Vivary Park!  It was wonderful to spend 2 hours relaxing in the sunshine and being transported back to the 'good old days' with such an eclectic mix of great music! Keep up the good work and know that your hard work is touching people's lives in ways you cannot imagine."  (Email received from a member of the public regarding our open-air concert in Vivary Park, Taunton on Sunday, 20th May 2018)

Do watch this space for at-a-glance information on our upcoming engagements. Our engagement calendar for 2018 can be found on the Engagements page. However, engagements are added to the calendar throughout the year, and may be subject to change on occasion, so please keep checking.

Other news: Kingsbury Episcopi Band has gained recognition from HMRC that it is now a charity for tax purposes.

This allows us to continue our great work for the community with renewed vigour and to seek the funding to enhance the services offered to musicians, event organisers and, of course, the public.

The Charity's objects are:

1) To advance the education of those of all ages and ability wishing to develop their musicianship of woodwind, brass or percussion instruments by providing instruments, practice facilities, tuition and opportunities to perform in public concerts.
2) To promote the appreciation and understanding of wind band music for the public benefit and stimulate interest in the art of wind band playing through presentation of public performances.
3) To further such charitable purposes as the trustees think fit from time to time, in particular, but not limited to, the support of charities in the South Somerset and surrounding areas by helping raise funds or by the provision of grants.

Please visit our website often to learn of our upcoming engagements - there will be plenty of opportunities to 'follow the band'. And if you've not already done so, please click on the link at the bottom of this page and 'like' us on Facebook where you can also keep up to date with KEB's latest news.
