Kingsbury Episcopi Band

Notices from Thursday 14 March 2019

We were sorry to hear from Brian that Martin was unwell – we all hope that you get well soon, Martin.

This coming Sunday, 17 March there is an additional practice for the whole band in the band room at Langport from 2-4pm as further preparation for the upcoming CD recording.

Thank you, Brian, from all of us for giving up so much of your time for the extra sectional rehearsals over the past week or so.

CD Recording

The recording of the CD will take place on Saturday and Sunday (both days), 6 & 7 April at Barrington Village Hall (TA19 0JE). In preparation, the previous two practices will be held there, but on Fridays instead of Thursdays (as the hall is booked out on Thursday evenings). This means that practices will be on Friday 29 March and Friday 5 April in Barrington Village Hall at the usual time (no practices on Thursday 28 March and Thursday 4 April). Thursday 21 March is practice as normal in the Langport band room.

Band AGM

The AGM will take place on Thursday 11 April starting at 8pm prompt in the band room at Langport. The following members will be stepping down: Bob Miller (Chairman), Carolyn Perrin (Secretary), Eilish Blackford and Sylvia Fielding. Bob urged members to consider standing for the committee, as at least 4 places need to be filled. Please contact Bob should you be interested.

Thank you to Pete who ran the monthly raffle this evening, which raised £19 for band funds.

“The band playing was exceptional this year, and many have commented on the really good mix of carols and popular music.

Once again, huge thanks for playing for us again.”

“Just a note to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all of you in the Band for the great event on Sunday. We thought that the Band was on absolutely ‘top form’ and excelled in all aspects of the music.”

Email from the organiser of the Kingsbury Episcopi Methodist Church carol concert held on Sunday 16th Dec 2018

“I just wanted to officially thank you all for the wonderful performance you put on for our Street Fair. It isn’t official yet but I believe this was our best year ever for fund raising. Thank you for being a part of that. I say it every year and every year I mean it, when I say Drayton Street Fair wouldn’t be the same without you. It’s the music that lends the day its particular vibrance, I believe.I hope you all enjoyed yourself and that we’ll see you again next year.”
